Helpline numbers for CBSE students

C
entral Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has re-launched its helpline service to help answer exam-related student queries. The telephonic counselling would be active between 8 am and 4 pm from February 1 to March 31, 2009.

CBSE has appointed three counsellors Ashok Gupta, Seema Sharma (India International School) and Upendra Kaushik (Vidyashram School) to handle students' queries. They have prepared a list of questionnaire based on their past experience.

Gupta further added that some changes have been made in the examination process, to be implemented from this session onwards. "The number of pages in the answer sheets have been reduced with the advent of new question paper pattern which would require fewer pages," said Gupta.

A class XII student would get a 40-page answer sheet as compared to 48 pages earlier. Similarly, the number of pages for tenth class has been reduced to 32 from 40. This new system would reduce the psychological pressure of the students that arises out of more number of pages.
